Record #199451:

Prediction of stem attributes by combining airborne laser scanning and measurements from harvesters / Johan Holmgren, and 3 others.

Title: Prediction of stem attributes by combining airborne laser scanning and measurements from harvesters / Johan Holmgren, and 3 others.
Author(s): Holmgren, Johan.
Date: 2012.
Language: Finnish.
In: Silva Fennica. (2012.), Vol. 46(2) (2012)
Abstract: Reports validation of new method that predicts stem attributes for forest area without any manual measurement of tree stems by combining harvester measurement and Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) data. Develops new algorithm for automatic segmentation of tree crowns from ALS data based on tree crown models. Test site was located in forest (64°06′N, 19°10′ E) dominated by Norway spruce (Picea abies) and Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris)
