Региональные особенности климатических изменений морского ледяного покрова в XX - начале XXI века и их причины

Title: Региональные особенности климатических изменений морского ледяного покрова в XX - начале XXI века и их причины
Title, transliterated: Regionalʹnye osobennosti klimaticheskikh izmeneniĭ morskogo ledi︠a︡nogo pokrova v XX - nachale XXI veka i ikh prichiny / I.E. Frolov, and 3 others.
Translated title: Regional features of climatic changes of sea ice cover in the 20th - beginning of 21st century and their causes.

Abstract: Analyzes spatial and temporal characteristics of variabilities of Arctic sea ice extent, air temperature and atmospheric circulation on decadal to century timescales. Characteristics include cyclical fluctuations of climate system components, increase in fluctuation amplitudes with latitude, etc. Attributes these to change in total solar irradiance reaching Earth, through decisive influence on climate and impact on polar vortices, leading to fluctuations in mean zonal wind velocity and latitudinal displacements of belts of zonal air transfer in lower troposphere. Arising anomalies in atmospheric circulation centres affect heat balance of underlying surface, and thus extent of continental climate and distribution of winter and summer air temperature anomalies. Offers prognosis for 21st-century Arctic ice extent differing significantly from those based on "greenhouse theory".
