Вклад снегозапасов в изменения стока крупнейших рек бассейна Северного Ледовитого океана в период современного потепления

Title: Вклад снегозапасов в изменения стока крупнейших рек бассейна Северного Ледовитого океана в период современного потепления
Title, transliterated: Vklad snegozapasov v izmenenii︠a︡ stoka krupneĭshikh rek basseĭna Severnogo Ledovitogo okeana v period sovremennogo poteplenii︠a︡ / V.V. Popova.
Translated title: The snow storage contribution in major changes of river runoff in the Arctic Ocean during current warming period.
Author(s): Popova, V. V.
Date: 2011.
Language: Russian.
In: Led i Sneg. (2011.), Vol. 3(115) (2011)
Abstract: Examines correlations between annual runoff for North Dvina, Ob, Yenisey and Lena rivers and climatic factors: snow water equivalent (SWE), liquid precipitation and summer surface air temperature. Also examines links with Northern Hemisphere teleconnection patterns (North Atlantic, East Atlantic and Scandinavian oscillations). Together, SWE and liquid precipitation account for majority of annual runoff variability. SWE dominates for all basins but Lena, probably because of permafrost regime and lower mean SWE here. Attributes positive 1968-2004 runoff trend in Yenisey basin to increased SWE, itself attributed to global warming via positive NAO phase (confirmed by correlation between NAO index and 3-year running means of Yenisey runoff). Associates low-frequency variations for other basins with SCAND index describing blocking over Northern Eurasia.
