| Abstract: | Describes ancient buried alas complexes represented in cross sections of high Yedoma level at Duvanny Yar (lower Kolyma river) and Achchagyy-Allaikha river (near confluence with Indigirka). Discusses structural features of alases, which result from reworking of ancient ice complexes by lake thermokarst followed by sedimentation in alases, and compares with Holocene alas complexes widespread in lowlands. |
