Record #199309:

Dynamics versus thermodynamics: the sea ice thickness distribution / Christian Haas.

Title: Dynamics versus thermodynamics: the sea ice thickness distribution / Christian Haas.
Author(s): Haas, Christian.
Date: 2010.
Publisher: Oxford: Wiley-Blackwell
In: Sea ice. (2010.),
Abstract: Presents physical and statistical approaches to understanding and simulating ice thickness distribution on local and regional scales, and reviews current knowledge of global ice thickness distribution. Discusses components of ice thickness evolution modelling (thermodynamics, ice divergence and advection, ice deformation/convergence, and melting), methods of determining ice thickness (upward-looking sonars, electromagnetic induction sounding, satellite altimetry, etc.), and some results of observations of variability and trends in Arctic regions.
Notes:
