Древние аласные комплексы северной Якутии
Title: | Древние аласные комплексы северной Якутии |
Title, transliterated: | Drevnie alasnye kompleksy severnoĭ I︠A︡kutii / T.N. Kaplina. |
Translated title: | Ancient alas complexes of northern Yakutiya: part 2. |
Author(s): | Kaplina, T. N. |
Date: | 2011. |
Language: | Russian. |
In: | Kriosfera Zemli. (2011.), Vol. 15(3) (2011) |
Abstract: | Describes ancient buried alas complex of high Yedoma level on shores of Dmitri Laptev Strait. Compares cross-sections with complexes of Duvanny Yar (Kolyma river) and Achchagyy-Allaikha (left bank of Indigirka). Taberal formations at base of cross-sections, alas accumulations in upper part of complexes, and systems of ice wedge pseudomorphs along formation boundaries indicate structure similar to Holocene alas complexes, both resulting from lake thermokarst followed by sedimentation in alases. Associates emergence of ancient alas complexes with dramatic environmental changes, indicated by transformation of vegetation from tundra-steppe to humid tundra, and even taiga, type as temperature and humidity increased. Suggests alas formed and deposits accumulated in early Karginsky (MIS-3, Duvannyi Yar) and Kazantsevsky (MIS-5, Allaikha and Dimitri Laptev Strait) |
