Abstract: Describes Rapid Assessment of Circumarctic Ecosystem Resilience (RACER), project initiated by World Wildlife Fund. RACER aims to identify and map places of conservation importance throughout Arctic that display outstanding biodiversity and identifies key environmental characteristics that determine their exceptional productivity and diversity. RACER also tests whether these key features will continue to provide region-wide resilience despite predicted climate-related changes to temperature, rain, snowfall, sea ice, and other environmental factors important to living systems.
