Abstract: Discusses forthcoming workshop involving 16 social scientists from 14 countries, to discuss future research opportunities within International Arctic Science Committee (IASC). Workshop's participants are expected to summarise state of research in field of human and social sciences, to discuss gaps, and to identify priorities for attention. Scientific foci could include: indigenous peoples and Arctic change; Arctic economies and sustainable development; Arctic as source of raw materials; and history of Arctic science.
