| Abstract: | Following proposals to prospect for oil in Bering Sea, report attempts to identify and prioritize pre-leasing research needs and ascertain levels of interest from oil and gas companies. Overall priority is obtaining data on pre-lease sale, pre-exploration and pre-development. Considers effects of prospecting on general environment, sea ice, oceanography and meteorology and ocean floor. Includes comprehensive bibliography. |
