Abstract: Discusses results of questionnaire recently circulated by researchers at University of Lapland, Finland, with aim of assessing effectiveness of Arctic Council. Respondents believed that Arctic Council is especially effective in increasing international cooperation in Arctic and raising awareness about regions. They also felt that council improved ability of Arctic's indigenous peoples to influence local, regional and international politics.
