Record #197988:

The importance of long-term studies of ecosystem reassembly after the eruption of the Kasatochi Island volcano / Roger del Moral.

Title: The importance of long-term studies of ecosystem reassembly after the eruption of the Kasatochi Island volcano / Roger del Moral.
Author(s): Moral, Roger del.
Date: 2010.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2010.), Vol. 42(3) (2010)
Abstract: Describes initial effects of eruption of 2008 Kasatochi volcano on soils, oceanic waters, benthic terrain, terrestrial plants, land birds, shore birds, nesting seabirds, arthropods, marine algae and marine invertebrates. Summarises conventional understandings of mechanisms that drive reassembly of devastated ecosystems and shows how studies of Kasatochi Island may enhance our understanding of succession.
