Title: Post-eruption legacy effects and their implications for long-term recovery of the vegetation on Kasatochi Island, Alaska / Stephen S. Talbot, Sandra Looman Talbot, Lawrence R. Walker.

In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2010.), Vol. 42(3) (2010)
Abstract: Examines vegetation of Kasatochi Island, central Aleutian Islands, to provide general field assessment of survival of plants, lichen and fungi following destructive volcanic eruption that occurred in 2008. Uses multivariate methods to analyze data and explore relationship between pre- and post- eruption plant cover. Study provided very unusual glimpse into early stages of plant primary succession on remote island where most of vegetation was destroyed.
