Abstract: Presents numerical modelling of temperature and ice velocity fields in global warming scenario. Analyzes temperature distribution using snow-firn-layer model that takes account of phase transition, filtration and re-freezing of melt water in depth layers, and precipitation. Compares model with more simple one by Paterson and Clarke and uses resulting temperature profiles in finite-element simulation of ice flow. Simulates ice cap evolution for 100 years from 1988, during which ice velocities increase by 8-10% and influence of atmospheric warming penetrates 80-90 metres.
