Record #197896:

Climatic signals in δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O of tree-rings from white spruce in the Mackenzie Delta region, northern Canada / Trevor J. Porter, and 3 others.

Title: Climatic signals in δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O of tree-rings from white spruce in the Mackenzie Delta region, northern Canada / Trevor J. Porter, and 3 others.
Author(s): Porter, Trevor J.
Date: 2009.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2009.), Vol. 41(4) (2009)
Abstract: Presents first tree-ring series (1850-2003) of stable carbon and oxygen isotope ratios from high-latitude tree-line site in north-western Canada. Finds strong positive association between δ¹³C and maximum summer temperatures. Relation probably results from influence of temperature-induced drought stress on stomatal conductance. Mean summer relative humidity is also significantly correlated, inversely, with δ¹³C reflecting its direct influence on stomatal conductance. Record of δ¹⁸O is strongly and positively correlated with early-spring to mid-summer minimum temperatures.
