Assisted revegetation in a subarctic environment: effects of fertilization on the performance of three indigenous plant species / Alexis Deshaies, Stéphane Boudreau.

Title: Assisted revegetation in a subarctic environment: effects of fertilization on the performance of three indigenous plant species / Alexis Deshaies, Stéphane Boudreau.
Author(s): Deshaies, Alexis.
Boudreau, Stéphane.
Date: 2009.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2009.), Vol. 41(4) (2009)
Abstract: Evaluates performance (seedling emergence, survival, and biomass production) of three indigenous plant species (Leymus mollis, Lathyrus japonicus and Trisetum spicatum) submitted to different levels of mineral and organic fertiliser additions in both greenhouse experiment and field plantation in village in northern Quebec. Finds that species can be used in assisted revegetation trials in sub-Arctic environments, as they are able to get established in natural environment during first growing season, survive following winter, and grow rapidly during second growing season.
