Record #197641:

Highly unsaturated n-3 fatty acids status of Canadian Inuit: International Polar Year Inuit Health Survey, 2007-2008 / Yuan E. Zhou, Stan Kubow, Grace M. Egeland.

Title: Highly unsaturated n-3 fatty acids status of Canadian Inuit: International Polar Year Inuit Health Survey, 2007-2008 / Yuan E. Zhou, Stan Kubow, Grace M. Egeland.
Author(s): Zhou, Yuan E.
Kubow, Stan.
Egeland, Grace M.
Date: 2011.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2011.), Vol. 70(5) (2011)
Abstract: Investigates extent and biochemical effect of dietary transition among Inuit. Younger generation consume less traditional foods and more market foods with low nutrient density. Explores regional and age variability of highly unsaturated n-3 fatty acids. Findings provide biochemical evidence of varying dietary patterns and dietary transition among Inuit across Canadian Arctic. Analyses also suggest multifactorial determinants of highly unsaturated n-3 fatty acid status among Canadian Arctic Inuit.
