Abstract: Documents Late-Holocene climate variability in west Greenland as inferred from marine sediment record from outer Disko Bay. Uses organic-walled dinoflagellate cysts and other palynomorphs to reconstruct environmental changes in area through last c. 1500 years at 30-40-years resolution. Identifies sea ice cover and primary productivity as two main factors driving dinoflagellate cyst community changes over time. Data provide evidence for opposite climate trend in west Greenland relative to that of NE Atlantic region from c. AD 500-1050.
