Abstract: | Reports results of excavation of fossiferous sediments at bottom of 40-m entrance shaft, functioning as pitfall trap, in Sirijorda Cave (Nordland, Norway) comprising 3,467 vertebrate bone fragments. Identifies 20 species: one frog, two birds and 17 mammals. Most species appeared more or less continuously during time periods of Atlantic, Sub-boreal and Sub-Atlantic chromosomes. With exception of one species, ortex isogons, all registered species in time profile are present in area today. |
