Radial-growth response of forest-tundra trees to climate in the western Hudson Bay lowlands / Steven D. Mamet, G. Peter Kershaw.
Title: | Radial-growth response of forest-tundra trees to climate in the western Hudson Bay lowlands / Steven D. Mamet, G. Peter Kershaw. |
Author(s): | Mamet, Steven D. Kershaw, G. Peter. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Arctic. (2011.), Vol. 64(4) (2011) |
Abstract: | Investigates effects of climate on radial growth of Larix laricina, Picea glauca and Picea mariana in Hudson Bay lowlands of northern Manitoba. Objective is to characterise spatial and temporal growth in trees across forest-tundra ecotone. Results support findings of previous tree-ring studies around Churchill, while providing new evidence for disparity in growth response of trees along environmental gradient south of Churchill to Nelson River, disparity that may be related to synoptic climate. |
