| Abstract: | Presents previously unpublished raw notes made by Davis during voyage of F.I.S Endeavour in September and October, 1912, on return trip from Melbourne to fishing town of Eden on south coast of New South Wales. Davis participated in voyage as observer to gain greater knowledge of operating techniques when using oceanographic research equipment in preparation for voyages of Aurora in Southern Ocean during Mawson's 1912-14 Australasian Antarctic Expedition. Though Davis has often been portrayed in negative light, his personal notes reveal different side of character. |
