Record #196853:

Intermittent turbulent mixing under ice in the Laptev Sea continental shelf / Yueng-Djern Lenn, and 6 others.

Title: Intermittent turbulent mixing under ice in the Laptev Sea continental shelf / Yueng-Djern Lenn, and 6 others.
Author(s): Lenn, Yueng-Djern.
Date: 2011.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2011.), Vol. 41(3) (2011)
Abstract: Investigates tidally driven mixing in Arctic shelf seas with new rapidly sampled time-series observations of turbulent dissipation and water column stratification in north Laptev Sea (NLS). Describes observations, tide model, analytical methods, and hydrographic environment. Examines boundary layer mixing observed in NLS and gives details of intense pycnocline mixing. Discusses mechanisms driving intermittent shear enhancement and mixing as well as consequences of observed vertical fluxes.
