Abstract: | Presents overview of economic evaluations of new health technologies and treatments and discusses how these evaluations can be used to help inform payers of best use of scarce health care resources. Concludes that techniques of economic evaluation are useful tools and provide important input into decision-making process, but notes that there are issues specific to remote and circumpolar communities that can affect results of economic appraisals. |
