Plant responses to natural and experimental variations in temperature in alpine tundra, southern Yukon, Canada / Sara J. Pieper, and 3 others.
Title: | Plant responses to natural and experimental variations in temperature in alpine tundra, southern Yukon, Canada / Sara J. Pieper, and 3 others. |
Author(s): | Pieper, Sara J. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2011.), Vol. 43(3) (2011) |
Abstract: | Examines plant responses to natural and experimental variations in temperature at sub-Arctic, alpine tundra site by monitoring growth of four target species (Dryas octopetala, Lupinus arcticus, Polygonum viviparum, and Salix arctica) from 1999-2008. All target species except L. arcticus showed significant annual variations in vegetative and reproductive characteristics. Temperature variations were significantly related to annual growth and reproductive output in most cases. |
