Record #196399:

Inuvialuit critical autobiography and the carceral writing of Anthony Apakark Thrasher / Keavy Martin, Sam McKegney.

Title: Inuvialuit critical autobiography and the carceral writing of Anthony Apakark Thrasher / Keavy Martin, Sam McKegney.
Author(s): Martin, Keavy.
McKegney, Sam.
Date: 2011.
Publisher: [Vancouver, BC]: [University of British Columbia]
Abstract: Critical analysis of writings of Anthony Apapark Thrasher, concentrating on his unpublished work and on intellectual and ethical complexities involved in simultaneously considering Inuvialuit autobiography and carceral compositions. Contention is that Thrasher vacillates between what might appear to be mutually exclusive claims of victimhood and emancipatory authorial power. Material omitted from autobiographical work Thrasher ... Skid Row Eskimo is also examined.
