Epiphytic macrolichens in spruce plantations and native birch forests along a coast-inland gradient in north Norway / Kjersti Wannebo-Nilsen, and 3 others.
Title: | Epiphytic macrolichens in spruce plantations and native birch forests along a coast-inland gradient in north Norway / Kjersti Wannebo-Nilsen, and 3 others. |
Author(s): | Wannebo-Nilsen, Kjersti. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Boreal Environment Research. (2011.), Vol. 15(1) (2011) |
Abstract: | Evaluates differences in macrolichen communities between spruce plantations and native birch-dominated forests. Demonstrates that one type of plantation in particular, Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) causes declines in species number and diversity. Notes that other studies have shown similar effects of Norway spruce (Picea abies) on other organism groups. |
Notes: | Boreal Environment Research. Vol. 15(1) :43-57 (2011). |
