| Abstract: | Demonstrates essential genetic variety of massive ice complexes in permafrost thickness and proposes new classification comprising two (subdivided) broad categories: homogeneous massive ice complexes, whose genesis, structure and properties are similar in all studied parts; and heterogeneous massive ice complexes, whose structure and properties of change along section. Heterogenous complexes consist of two or more homogeneous massive ice bodies or combinations of homogeneous massive ice bodies. Proposes three principal idealized models of heterogeneous massive ice complex formation. |
