| Abstract: | Reports second phase of project examining spatial variation of physical properties and time evolution of snow cover in Dronning Maud Land, based on field work at Aboa station and along 300-km transect from Rampii at ice shelf edge through Aboa to Swedish station Svea, Heimefrontfjella range. Describes research area and summarizes activities of expeditions FINNARP 2003 and FINNARP 2004, including snow pit investigations, snow chemistry, firn and ice coring, radiation budget, supraglacial lake research (Lake Suvivesi), and collection of ground truth to support remote sensing studies using ENVISAT imagery. |
