Abstract: Argues need to improve working relationship between scientific and anthropological researches and indigenous Arctic residents. Notes that many scientists who conduct research in Arctic still do not regard people of Arctic as partners in their enterprises or as worthy collaborators or participants in studies. Commends efforts of International Arctic Social Sciences Association (IASSA) to promote collaboration between social scientists and northern people.
