| Abstract: | Examines processes of seasonal decrease of ice area in Arctic and relationship between sea-ice redistribution during autumn-spring and minimum ice extent. Finds that sea-ice decrease is mainly due to ice melting. Interannual difference in minimum ice extent is strongly controlled by winter-spring ice motion, which affects ice thickness distribution in early summer. |
