Abstract: Unpublished report submitted to Head of Learning and Manager of Centre for Arts and Humanities Research at Natural History Museum, London, and to Librarian and Keeper of Collections at Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge, regarding content and design of exhibition dedicated to science conducted on Scott's 1910-13 Terra Nova Antarctic expedition, to be held at Natural History Museum in 2012. Includes level of contemporary scientific knowledge of Antarctica and links to previous expeditions; key scientific results of Terra Nova expedition and contribution to understanding of Antarctica; process by which specific research questions were selected and their relationship to knowledge accumulated by previous expeditions; evaluation of scientific methodology used during expedition, with particular reference to adaptation to extreme environment, and daily activities of scientists; and selection or rejection of scientific personnel. Appendices include selected correspondence related to publication of scientific results, particularly penguin embryos, amphipoda and corals; Scott's 1909 proposal to Sir Archibald Geikie for scientific programme; and memorandum prepared for Scott on geological exploration of Western Mountains, Victoria Land, and Ross Island.
