Abstract: Describes Aleut baseball, game played by Sugpiat of Nanwalek and Port Graham on lower Kenai Peninsula, Alaska. Despite resemblance to American baseball and Russian lapta, Aleut baseball should be considered cultural novelty. Discusses some elements that make Aleut baseball expressive of Sugpiat culture, and channel for renegotiating and re-energising established norms and values.
