Record #195498:
Dominant diatom species in the Canada Basin in summer 2003, a reported serious melting season / Shuxian Zheng.
Title: | Dominant diatom species in the Canada Basin in summer 2003, a reported serious melting season / Shuxian Zheng. |
Author(s): | Zheng, Shuxian. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Polar Record. (2011.), Vol. 47(242) (2011) |
Abstract: | Reports sampling of sea ice cores and underlying water from seven stations in pack ice zone of Canada Basin, and examination with phase contrast microscope. Records total of 102 and 78 algal species from ice cores and underlying water, respectively. Finds spatial heterogeneity in both horizontal and vertical directions to be main characteristic of algal community structure, as demonstrated by cluster analysis result and distribution patterns. |
