| Abstract: | Considers ways in which scientific studies of challenges posed by climate change could be improved by including other sources of knowledge, such as Saami traditional knowledge. Focuses on local variations in snow and ice conditions, effects of first durable snow and long-term changes in snow and ice conditions as prerequisites for understanding potential future changes. Finds remarkable agreement between scientific measurements and Saami terminology. |
