Title: Prevalence of anemia among Inuit women in Nunavik, Canada / Coralline Planet, and 3 others.
Author(s): Planet, Coralline.
Date: 2011.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2011.), Vol. 70(2) (2011)
Abstract: Examines prevalence of main types of anaemia among non-pregnant Inuit women of Nunavik, using representative sample. Finds anaemia to be present in 43% of Inuit women in Nunavik and 21% of women sampled to be suffering from iron deficiency anaemia. Prevalence of anaemia in Nunavik is similar to levels observed in non-industrialised countries and presents severe public health problem that should be further investigated.
