Abstract: Reports results of census conducted in 2009 of colonial waterbirds breeding on Egg Island in western Lake Athabasca. Island supports largest breeding colony of Caspian terns (Hydroprogne caspia) in Alberta. Californian gulls (Larus californicus) and herring gulls (Larus argentatus) also nest on island.
