| Abstract: | Institutions currently participating in study of Arctic marine flora and fauna at Russian Academy of Sciences are Zoological Institute and Botanical Institute in St. Petersburg, Institute of Oceanography in Moscow and Murmansk Marine Biological Institute. Recently gained freedom from political control has enabled greater cooperation between Russian scientists and foreign colleagues resulting in considerably increased knowledge of species diversity in Siberian waters, particularly in East Siberian, Chukchi and Laptev seas. Results of these investigations have now been published and article outlines findings. |
