Abstract: Reconstructs glacial dynamics and configuration of Hudson Strait Ice Stream (HSIS) catchment, based on new field observations and till composition data from Southampton Island, remote sensing imagery and multi-beam bathymetry from Hudson Bay sea floor, and re-examined published data. Suggests that late Quaternary HSIS catchment consisted of several ice-stream tributaries feeding curvilinear trunk, potentially extending into western Hudson Bay. Southampton Island and surrounding channels were important in controlling location and geometry of main tributaries, with higher terrain forming large inter-stream zone. Potential link between mega-scale glacial lineations on western Hudson Bay mainland and Dubawnt dispersal train may indicate westward propagation of HSIS onset zone far into Laurentide Ice Sheet, with >1500 km total ice stream length.
