Новые данные о распределении органических соединений в снежно-ледяном покрове Восточной Антарктиды

Title: Новые данные о распределении органических соединений в снежно-ледяном покрове Восточной Антарктиды
Title, transliterated: Novye dannye o raspredelenii organicheskikh soedineniĭ v snezhno-ledi︠a︡nom pokrove Vostochnoĭ Antarktidy / I.A. Nemirovskai︠a︡, N.G. Cherni︠a︡vskiĭ.
Translated title: New data on distribution of organic compounds in snow and ice of East Antarctica.

Language: Russian.
In: Led i Sneg. (2010.), Vol. 2(110) (2010)
Abstract: Examines observations of organic compounds (including dissolved and suspended lipids and hydrocarbons) in snow, sea and lake ice, and sub-ice water in coastal zone and continental lakes. Shows that variations in concentration and distribution are coherent with ice forming conditions and processes occurring in ice and at ice-snow and ice-water contacts. Organic compounds are accumulated in layers characterised by intense autochthonous processes in these boundary zones that stay biogeochemically active even under low temperature conditions. Compares data on distribution and quantity of organic compounds in Antarctic snow and ice cover from 2001, 2003 and 2008.
