Роль арктического морского ледяного покрова в газообмене поверхностных геосфер

Title: Роль арктического морского ледяного покрова в газообмене поверхностных геосфер
Title, transliterated: Rolʹ arkticheskogo morskogo ledi︠a︡nogo pokrova v gazoobmene poverkhnostnykh geosfer / V.N. Golubev.
Translated title: Role of the Arctic sea ice cover in the gas exchange of the surface geosphere.
Author(s): Golubev, V. N.
Date: 2010.
Language: Russian.
In: Kriosfera Zemli. (2010.), Vol. 14(4) (2010)
Abstract: Examines how annual variation in sea ice cover influences seasonal variation of greenhouse effect by limiting atmosphere-ocean CO₂ exchange. Discusses long-term records of air temperature, sea ice extent and atmospheric CO₂ and how seasonal variation of CO₂ varies across world. Notes high correlation between atmospheric CO₂ content and sea ice extent, with amplitude of seasonal CO₂ cycles ranging from 0-5 ppm at 10°S to 20 ppm at 60°-80° N. Greenhouse effect in Northern Hemisphere is 2% greater at end of winter than during summer, and 6% greater north of 60°, partly offsetting heat losses related to seasonal cycle of incoming solar radiation, increase of mean surface albedo and decrease of atmospheric water vapour content.
