Record #194683:

Linkages between large-scale climate patterns and the dynamics of Arctic caribou populations / Kyle Joly, and 4 others.

Title: Linkages between large-scale climate patterns and the dynamics of Arctic caribou populations / Kyle Joly, and 4 others.
Author(s): Joly, Kyle.
Date: 2011.
In: Ecography. (2011.), Vol. 34(2) (2011)
Abstract: Presents hypothesis linking large-scale climate patterns to patterns of decline in caribou and reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) populations. Tests hypothesis for such relationships among Alaska caribou herds by calculating population growth rate and percentage change of four Arctic herds using population estimates, and exploring associations with indices of Arctic Oscillation and Pacific Decadal Oscillation. Findings reveal that climate warming has not acted uniformly to reduce caribou populations globally.
