Abstract: Investigates extent and means by which Yakut cattle (yakutskiy skot) survived in three villages (in Eveno-Bytantayskiy Ulus) during transition from socialism to capitalism. Analyses relationship between diversity in society and diversity of domesticated animals and concludes that socio-diversity is important facilitator for biodiversity.
