Abstract: Proposes method of calculating photosynthetically available radiation (PAR) just below surface of sea, using "best fit" of irradiance profile of 1-5 m with content attentuation coefficient under surface. Demonstrates that attenuation coefficient of PAR is independent of intensity of radiation, using both theory and observational data.
