Presents preliminary results covering: state of Arctic Ocean and its sea ice cover; explorations of Svalbard Archipelago and glaciers in other Arctic regions; studies of ice mass balance and discharge on Antarctic continent; observations in near-summit part of Mt. El'brus in Caucasus; and investigations of interconnections between snow cover and atmospheric circulation and river runoff under permafrost conditions.
