Климатические причины колебаний горных ледников в голоцене

Title: Климатические причины колебаний горных ледников в голоцене
Title, transliterated: Klimaticheskie prichiny kolebaniĭ gornykh lednikov v golot︠s︡ene / O.N. Solomina.
Translated title: Climatic causes of mountain glacier fluctuations in the Holocene.
Author(s): Solomina, O. N.
Date: 2010.
Language: Russian.
In: Led i Sneg. (2010.), Vol. 1(109) (2010)
Abstract: Analyzes long-term glacier variations, specifically: abrupt climatic changes and subsequent glacier advance in western Atlantic and northern Cordillera at 8.2 ka; and centennial and multidecadal fluctuations during Neoglacial, with peaks roughly coinciding with 1,500-year Bond cycle and triggered by solar activity fluctuations and ocean circulation amplification. Compares regional glacier variations based on moraine, radiocarbon and tree-ring dating and lake and marine sediment studies with climate proxy series. Identifies factors triggering prominent advances/retreats and analyzes coherence in key high latitude regions of northern hemisphere over last 2 ka. Attributes most advances to multidecadal summer temperature minima, 200-year periodicity found in most high resolution records to solar activity fluctuations, and modern mountain glacier retreat to anthropogenic cause.
