| Abstract: | Reports mass balance investigations on 14 glaciers and length change measurements on 27 (22 in southern Norway and 5 in northern Norway). Presents detailed reports of mass balance studies in 10 glacier areas. Analyzes glacier length changes and reports jøkulhlaup at Blåmannsisen. Includes some glacier change and movement analysis, and pressure measurements from Svartisen subglacial laboratory. Winter balances were generally close to thirty-year average, summer balance above average. Net balance was negative for ten of fourteen measured glaciers. Twenty-two observed glacier outlets retreated, two advanced slightly, and three showed no change. Langfjordjøkelen and three outlets from Jostedalsbreen retreated more than 50 metres. |
