Abstract: Describes use in Sea Ice Simulator model of two salinity parameterisation schemes (isosaline and salinity profile), differing in single term. Shows that thermodynamic influence of term on freezing processes from November to May could be to raise sea ice temperature and restrain freezing. Melting could be accelerated during first melt phase, from June to August, and restrained during second melt phase, from September to October. Effect on sea ice thickness and concentration is weak, however. Confirms impact of "salinity different" term on simulated Arctic sea ice thickness and concentration by introducing two salinity parameterizations into ice-ocean coupled model Modular Ocean Model (MOM4).
