| Abstract: | Reports results of bird census undertaken during June 2009 in two study areas (63 km² in total) in north-western part of Ramsar site Heden, Jameson Land. Aim of study was to establish baseline knowledge on breeding bird densities in area in order to evaluate possible impacts from proposed mining activities on these populations. Important breeders were Sabine's gull (Larus sabini) and whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus) both of which are considered "near-threatened" in Greenland. |
