Record #192634:

Variation in ice conditions has strong effects on the breeding of marine birds at Prince Leopold Island, Nunavut / Anthony J. Gaston, H. Grant Gilchrist, Mark L. Mallory.

Title: Variation in ice conditions has strong effects on the breeding of marine birds at Prince Leopold Island, Nunavut / Anthony J. Gaston, H. Grant Gilchrist, Mark L. Mallory.
Author(s): Gaston, Anthony J.
Gilchrist, H. Grant.
Mallory, Mark L.
Date: 2005.
In: Ecography. (2005.), Vol. 28(3) (2005)
Abstract: Investigates effects of ice conditions on breeding of four species of seabirds over four years at Prince Leopold Island, Nunavut (colony close to limits of ice conditions where breeding is feasible). Findings suggest that current trends towards earlier ice break-up in Arctic may be beneficial for marine birds at Prince Leopold Island, at least in short-term.
