Record #192601:

Convection in the western North Atlantic sub-polar gyre: do small-scale wind events matter? / Robert S. Pickart, and 5 others.

Title: Convection in the western North Atlantic sub-polar gyre: do small-scale wind events matter? / Robert S. Pickart, and 5 others.
Author(s): Pickart, Robert S.
Date: 2008.
Publisher: Dordrecht: Springer
In: Arctic-subarctic ocean fluxes : defining the role of the northern seas in climate. (2008.),
Abstract: Summarises latest theories on deep convection in western North Atlantic, emphasising region adjacent to Greenland originally studied by Nansen. Notes that much has been published in intervening years about convection in western Labrador Sea, including results from joint French/Canadian field programme in late 1970s and recent Labrador Sea Deep Convection Experiment. Discusses new revelations about meteorology around southern Greenland, together with recent oceanographic station data and mooring time series.
Notes:

In: Arctic-subarctic ocean fluxes : defining the role of the northern seas in climate / Robert R. Dickson, Jens Meincke, Peter Rhines, eds.
