Nitrogen supply effects on leaf dynamics and nutrient input into the soil of plant species in a sub-Arctic tundra ecosystem / Rien Aerts.
Title: | Nitrogen supply effects on leaf dynamics and nutrient input into the soil of plant species in a sub-Arctic tundra ecosystem / Rien Aerts. |
Author(s): | Aerts, Rien. |
Date: | 2009. |
In: | Polar Biology. (2009.), Vol. 32(2) (2009) |
Abstract: | Investigates effect of increased nitrogen supply on leaf production, leaf turnover and dead leaf nitrogen input of Empetrum nigrum and andromeda polifolia (evergreens), Eriophorum vaginatuma (graminoid) and Betula nana (deciduous) in sub-Arctic tundra in northern Sweden between 2003-2007. Finds considerable intraspecific variation in response of leaf production to nitrogen addition. |
Notes: | Polar Biology. Vol. 32(2) :207-214 (2009). |
